When not at camp: I just graduated from university, so I will be going back home to figure out what I want to do next. I studied Jazz in university because I want to be in bands and play drums, but I also like to teach music! I want to build a jazz workshop company, so I've been leading jazz workshops in primary schools (ages 10 and 11).
How did you become a drummer? I started playing drums when I was 11 because my dad and brother both played electric guitar and bass, so I decided I wanted to take up an instrument! I love ACDC, Led Zeplin, and just rocking out! For chill time I love to play jazz and improvise. Improvisation is my favorite thing to do on the drums because there are no rules.
If you could take the camp on a field trip where would you go
and why? I would take the camp to
outer space. We would get to see all of the stars from a new perspective
and see all of Earth! I think the kids would go nuts, it would be
awesome. They could experience the zero gravity sensations, which
everyone would go absolutely insane for.
What's the most interesting/different thing about America? It's my second year as a counselor so I'm a little more used to it now, but I would say all the excitement in America was a little shocking. Everything just feels like it's done double the size here...like 200% of what us Brits would do.
